Tell us a little about yourself.
I’m originally from Chicago, but moved to Atlanta in 2004 with my husband, Charles—who is an Atlanta native—and have lived in Buckhead ever since. We have two amazing children, Katelyn and Charlie, one old dog, Mugsy, and a tortoise, Sally. Real estate is a second career for me. Before this, I was a marketing director for nearly 15 years in the non-profit industry. You see, I’m a serial volunteer, which is why I went into non-profit after graduating college. But, when I realized I wasn’t making much of an impact in my community, I decided it was time for a change. Now, I get to help home buyers and sellers achieve an extremely important life goal.
How would you describe the state of Atlanta real estate in 2017?
All indicators point to continued positive growth in the metro Atlanta real estate market, despite low inventory of affordable single-family homes.
What is one type of flooring desired by Atlanta homeowners/homebuyers?
Overwhelmingly, homeowners and homebuyers prefer hardwood flooring.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give a homeowner looking to sell?
Hire your RealtorÒ before preparing your home for sale. A good listing agent understands what buyers want and will help prioritize and plan the right improvements to get the biggest return. Oftentimes, we have vendors and contractors we can recommend that may save you money.
What’s one piece of advice you’d give a homeowner looking to buy?
Hire a RealtorÒ that you like and trust, and is familiar with the neighborhoods you are considering will result in a greater experience. Buying a home is likely the largest investment you will make, and your RealtorÒ should be an advisor in every step of the process so you are a confident and well-informed homebuyer.
